We have two critical opportunities in the coming weeks to stem the onslaught of new pipelines and related fracking infrastructure in New Jersey.
NJDEP will be holding public hearings on Aug. 22nd and Sep. 7th on the New Jersey Natural Gas Pipeline and Compressor station. This 28 mile long, 30 inch pipeline proposed through Burlington and Ocean Counties is directly connected with two other major interstate pipeline projects (PennEast and Garden State Expansion). Collectively these projects would lock New Jersey into decades worth of increased dependence on toxic fracked gas.
These upcoming hearings represent a key opportunity to amplify our demand for NJDEP to use it’s authority under the Clean Water Act to reject the permits for these fracked gas pipelines and related infrastructure.
Full details on these hearings including location and time are on the Pinelands Preservation Alliance page at: http://www.pinelandsalliance.org/protection/hotissues/development/njnatgasline/
Please join us and encourage your friends and supporters to do the same! Together our collective efforts have built tremendous power over the past 5+ years, and now is our time to turn the tide on all these pipelines and advance our movement for a clean energy revolution.
