River Demonstrators to Demand Complete Fracking Ban
Residents to unfurl banner over Delaware River against fracking and its waste
What: Banner proclaiming “Defend the Delaware; Ban Fracking and Frack Waste” to be displayed over the Delaware River between Shohola Township, Pennsylvania and Barryville, New York
When: Sunday, August 26, 2:00 pm
Where: Gather at the parking lot for the river access ramp on the north side of the Delaware River bridge that connects Barryville NY with Shohola Township, PA, located at the intersection of Rt. 97 and Brook Rd., Barryville.
Why: Representatives of organizations and residents are calling for a COMPLETE ban on fracking in the Delaware River Basin, a ban on frack drilling, a ban on wastewater produced by fracking, and on water withdrawals for fracking.
They will unfurl a banner that expresses the united stand of Pennsylvanians and New Yorkers in their campaign to stop fracking and its activities from commencing anywhere in the Delaware River Watershed.
