UDC Endorses Rehabilitation of Skinners Falls Bridge
April 5, 2021Why DCS is Getting Involved in the Skinners Falls Bridge Issue
April 13, 2021Originally from Maryland, Ed Wesely lived in Damascus Pennsylvania for 30 years. Many folks in our community know Ed from his involvement with Barbara Yeaman and the Butterfly Barn, which was located on River Road in Milanville, PA. For many years Ed and Barbara facilitated activities to educate young and old on the complex life cycles of Monarch butterflies.
During his years in Milanville, Ed enjoyed canoeing the Delaware River. He also took a strong interest in the history of Milanville and became very knowledgeable on this topic. The Skinner family was instrumental in establishing Milanville. The historic district dates back to the mid-18th century and includes the Skinners Falls Bridge, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Here is a 15 minute audio segment of Ed Wesely speaking on the subject of the Skinners Falls Bridge and the importance of preserving it. This audio was submitted to PennDOT as a comment on their Skinners Falls Bridge project.
