Radio Catskill Awards Honor Outstanding Local Contributions to Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability

We are pleased to announce that DCS will receive a Radio Catskill 2024 Community Award. As per Radio Catskill: “Damascus Citizens for Sustainability (DCS) was created to preserve and protect clean air, land, and water as a civil and basic human right in the face of the threat posed by the shale gas extraction industry. Director Barbara Arrindell, who has a degree in bioengineering, formed the group in 2008, first focusing its advocacy and legal efforts to protect the Delaware River Watershed that provides drinking water for over 15 million people in four states.”

The awards will be presented on Thursday, September 12, from 5 pm to 7 pm at La Cigogne, 90 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY. The honorees are:

• Delaware Highlands Conservancy
• Farm Arts Collective
• SEEDS of Northeastern Pennsylvania
• Special Recognition: Laurie Ramie, Upper Delaware Council
• Special Recognition: Lisa Lyons, Morgan Outdoors
