DCS Has Lost a Dear Friend, Founding Member Ed Nocera

Ed Nocera, 1954 - 2024

Edward Nocera, a founding member of Damascus Citizens for Sustainability, passed away on October 13.

Damascus Citizens for Sustainability has lost a dear friend and one of its founding members, Ed Nocera, who died on October 13, 2024. Ed lived with his wife of 43 years, Anne, on Calkins Creek Road in Milanville, Pennsylvania.

Their home, a former schoolhouse, was also where Ed set up Nocera Art Tile Studio. Ed, a gifted and versatile artist, offered custom tile designs for residential and commercial projects blending traditional techniques with contemporary aesthetics. For many years, he also taught pottery classes at his studio.

Ed was born on February 28, 1954 in Belleville, New Jersey where he grew up.

His funeral was held October 17 at St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Interment took place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey on the following day. DCS sends its condolences to Anne and all of Ed’s family and friends.
