All We Have to Save – April 19

Two people who think a lot about how we live in the world are the writer and naturalist Laura Chávez Silverman and the poet Fátima Vélez. On Saturday 19 April, Silverman and Vélez are the guests of a unique collaboration between Damascus Citizens, the DVAA, and Deep Water Projects, in which we’ll explore justice, connection, and the future of our world in a series of performances and conversations with environmental authors, thinkers, and artists. Mark your calendars for subsequent events on May 9 and 10, and a celebratory closing during the Deep Water Literary Fest on Sunday, June 22.

Please join Laura and Fátima at Krause Hall, in the DVAA (37 Main St, Narrowsburg) for the first in this series, All We Have to Save, on Saturday 19 April at 3pm. The panel will feature poetry and song by multilingual poet and writer Fátima Velez-Giraldo, and a sampling of food and drink courtesy of The Outside Institute, foraged locally, and infused with wild flavors, such as sweetfern, knotweed, field garlic, magnolia, chaga, white pine and nettle. Admission is free.
